Match the exact HCODE record
The Ministry of Public Health HCODE search exposes a health-service unit's name, code, province, facility type and status. Use those fields together to corroborate the identity of a clinic or hospital rather than relying on a similar business name or a general map listing.
HCODE can be searched or filtered, and its documentation says the system covers both public and private health-service units. Keep the exact name and province aligned with the facility you intend to contact; a record for a different unit does not verify the premises in front of you.
Understand the registry and code scope
HCODE's about page identifies the responsible Ministry group and explains the newer alphanumeric nine-character code system. That documentation helps interpret an official unit code without assuming an older code format is the only valid identifier.
The registry is useful for administrative identity, type and status. It is not presented as a quality ranking or a clinical decision tool. Do not turn a valid code into a claim that one facility is better than another or appropriate for a particular medical problem.
Use the separate HSS list cautiously
The Department of Health Service Support provides a separate searchable list for private hospitals and clinics. During the 13 August 2026 check, that live page emitted server warnings, so its availability and returned results require manual confirmation before reliance.
A second official surface can help corroborate a private facility, but a technical warning must not be hidden or interpreted as a negative result for the facility. If the service does not work, keep that verification step incomplete and use HCODE plus direct official contact rather than inventing a status.
Confirm practical care details directly
A registry record does not prove that the facility is open now, offers a needed specialty or language, accepts a particular insurer, has current staff available or will charge a particular price. Ask the exact facility about those facts for the time and service required.
