Before you go
Check
- Verify the branch, postcode and collection arrangement before using an address for a parcel.
- Use the official address structure and retain tracking information through collection.
Decide whether counter collection fits
Thailand Post publishes a counter-collection service for items addressed to a selected post office rather than a residential reception point. It can be useful when a long-stay visitor cannot confirm that a hotel, condominium office or landlord will accept and hold postal items.
Keep the scope narrow. This is a Thailand Post process, not proof that a private courier will deliver to the post office or that a condominium reception will handle parcels. Confirm the sender can use Thailand Post and ask about any item restrictions before choosing this route.
Verify the branch and postcode
Use Thailand Post's service-point finder to choose a current branch and copy its exact name and postcode. Then contact or otherwise confirm that the branch currently accepts the counter-collection product and ask about the current fee and collection conditions.
Do that before the sender addresses the item. A directory entry proves that a service point is listed, not that every Thailand Post product is available there. Avoid selecting a branch only because its informal map label looks close to the accommodation.
Use the official address structure
The service page instructs the sender to use the recipient's name and phone number with “รอจ่ายไปรษณีย์” and the designated branch and postcode. Keep the recipient name consistent with the identification that will be shown at collection.
Ask the sender to preserve the tracking number and a copy of the address used. A misspelled branch, wrong postcode or nickname that does not match identification can make collection harder, and the reviewed source does not promise that staff can resolve an incorrectly addressed item.
Track, collect and keep the limits visible
Track the item and wait for the arrival information before travelling to the branch. Bring the identity document required by the official process and any tracking details. Confirm current collection hours and retention conditions directly rather than assuming the directory page contains every operational detail.
Counter collection does not answer customs, restricted-item, private-courier or building-reception questions. Those remain separate. If the parcel is commercially important or time-sensitive, verify the complete sender-to-branch chain first and keep an alternative that does not depend on an unconfirmed reception arrangement.
