Avoid
- Using a vague description such as 'stuff' instead of identifying each kind of content.
- Calling commercial merchandise a gift or leaving quantity, weight or value blank.
- Treating one destination notice, delivery estimate or compensation figure as universal.
Detailed explanation4 short sections
Describe the parties and contents precisely
Prepare the sender's and recipient's exact names and postal addresses. Thailand Post's checked customs-data notice also asks for telephone and email contact details where applicable. Match the destination address to what the recipient supplied instead of translating or shortening it from memory.
Describe what is actually inside. The notice distinguishes categories such as a gift, document, sample, returned goods or another purpose and asks for a detailed content description, quantity, net weight and value. It specifically warns commercial senders not to label merchandise as a gift.
Preserve the notice's destination scope
The checked Thailand Post article asks for the information in English and, within its named destination scope, includes country of origin and a six-digit customs code. The same article has stated exclusions and lists particular destination implementations. Those details cannot be rewritten as one permanent global form rule.
Ask the counter or current destination tool which fields and customs form apply to this parcel. The destination can impose different data, document, tax, import or electronic-transmission requirements. A completed postal form does not guarantee that the destination's Customs authority will admit the goods.
Choose the service only after checking the item
Thailand Post's International Parcel Service page makes its maximum weight, destination availability, air or surface mode, special-goods treatment and prohibited-item rules conditional on current terms. Do not select a service solely from an old price or delivery-time screenshot.
Show or accurately describe the contents before sealing the parcel so the counter can apply the current acceptance route. Batteries, liquids, valuables, dangerous goods and other special categories should never be assumed acceptable from a generic parcel description. This evidence set does not classify any specific item.
Keep the receipt and expectations bounded
Retain the posting receipt and item number when a tracked product is used. The official product page describes tracking and possible additional services, but availability depends on destination and terms. Confirm what the purchased service actually includes before leaving the counter.
Do not quote a universal delivery time, compensation amount, duty outcome or all-in price from this answer. Destination Customs, incomplete data and service conditions can change the result. Use the receipt and tracking number for follow-up, then open a Thailand Post inquiry if the tracked history later needs investigation.
